So I download the client on to my Pro, sign in and the game begins its horrible ingame final fantasy 14 client download process. I've gone through every trouble shoot. I've deleted the game and everything and re downloaded it. Talked to every tech representative from EVERY company my ISP, PSN, Square Enix online chat and NO ONE has a solution that DOES NOT make me go over the data cap for my internet service!

Otherwise I am not facing the same issue you are seeing while the game is open, and downloading at a very steady 5MBs for me. Yeah, it's absurd that SE has this problem and hasn't fixed it. I had a error downloading the patch over and over and over again on PC. The fix was changing my DNS to a DNS in Japan. This isn't a widely reported issue per se, but I feel like there are enough isolated incidents of this out there that they would've offered a fix already. They need to clean up that client for PS4. What worked for me was to use googles dns that would then download a few of the patches then fail. Then I would switch to another dns that would work for a few more patches and fail. I switch back to googles dns and that finished the rest of the patches.

Why would that be a solution though? I changed my PS4s DNS settings to the google ones or whatever. Still had to try like 4 more times and then it randomly decided to work. You just have to get lucky. It's really insane that this is still an issue honestly. I got it for PC and PS4 and had to deal with it on both.

Had a similar problem on PC. I had to download the trial from Steam, then copy the game files from steamapps to my program files, then run it like normal without steam. Yoshida said at Fan Fest they were going to put profits from the game back into Server upgrades and maintenance, so it won't be terrible like this forever.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm having the same issue on the PC version right now. Finding solutions for this shit was torture, mainly because there's so many different ones that work for different people. Even googling it you can see how often it happens, it's clearly an issue but they just don't seem to care. I've never had this issue on my final fantasy 14 client download PC, but it's absolutely unacceptable. Does bluegartr host the XIV files anywhere? For what it's worth, I downloaded all patches without a problem on my PS4 when I plugged it to the router via cable. Downloads speeds were much better and I got no errors after that.
